St. Patrick’s Parish is hosting a Mission Trip from St. John’s Episcopal Church in Kirkland, Washington State, USA. The mission trip group from St. John’s will arrive on July 18th and depart on July 27th. There will be 6 youths and 4 adults, including Father Lance Ousley; they will be staying at Laughing Bird Apartments and will be doing ministry in conjunction with the members of St. Patrick’s Parish.
On Tuesday evening there will be a “Soup Kitchen” dinner at St. Patrick’s Parish Hall which will be open to the entire Parish. The menu is a surprise but as a hint it will be a french variation of traditional peas and rice, perhaps a little more exciting to the taste buds. The Mission Team will take the lead in preparing the dinner for the first 70 Parish Members to sign up; sign up sheets are at the churches. If you feel called to participate in this Ministry, this is a great way to get to know these amazing youth and adults who will have travelled from Sunday afternoon, July 17th until arriving at the Laughing Bird Apartments around 3pm on Monday, July 18th. That, my fellow Christians, is dedication to serving Christ.
First day of Mission work will be Tuesday, July19th, starting around 9 am at St. Patrick's Church, building Leopold benches with the help of the ACM and the Youth Ministry, to be placed around the Church and Prayer Garden. Then around 3pm, the "Soup Ministry", ably assisted by the "ladies of the kitchen" and the ACW will commence preparation of this intriguing meal, a cultural and spiritual exchange for all to enjoy. Please sign up and participate in a delightful dinner with our Mission Team, help us to welcome them to St. Patrick's Parish and enjoy some great Christian fellowship.
